What is Neuropathy?
Neuropathy is a general term used to describe the different types of nerve damage that occurs. The most common type is peripheral neuropathy. This type occurs when the nerves located outside of the brain and spinal cord, also known as peripheral nerves, become damaged. These damaged nerve fibers send incorrect signals to the rest of the body causing uncomfortable symptoms.

What Causes Neuropathy?
